Question
I am a programmer. Will this course be all about stuff I already know?
Answer
Almost certainly not. Informatics is all about information governance and management, not about IT or computer programming – although of course it relies on both those skill sets to create the management infrastructures.
So there is no programming requirement anywhere in the course nor do you need to be able to understand programming at all.
Since you are a programmer, there will be some very useful insights and understanding of the ‘user’ and the ‘management and governance’ perspectives to be gained. The elinks will also provide some useful exercises and reference links such as open source pseudonymiser code, big data and master data management tools, etc.
